Comparison of three-phase DC brushless water pump and two-compartment (single-phase) brushless DC water pump:


The three-phase brushless DC water pump uses a six-slot stator, that is, there are three pairs of magnetic fields. The water pump is controlled by MCU and intelligently detects the position to change direction. No additional sensors are needed. Therefore, there is no need to put any electronic components in the pump body. And it is potted with a heat-dissipating aluminum shell, so the high temperature generated by the eddy current in the pump body will not affect the circuit board. After the circuit board of the pump is installed externally, all the materials inside the pump body can be used in boiling water above 100 degrees by replacing all the materials with high temperature resistance. The pump has the characteristics of reverse connection protection, jam protection, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, intelligent program or manual speed regulation. Moreover, the power of the same volume of water pump driven by the three-phase control method can be much higher than that of the two-phase water pump. (Three-phase DC and three-phase AC are completely different concepts. The power supply mode of three-phase DC is the same as ordinary DC, one positive and one negative. Three-phase AC has three lines. Three-phase DC is realized by using one of the missing phases. The two-phase DC water pump uses Hall elements to detect the position, and then commutates through the drive plate. The water pump control circuit board is built-in, and the Hall sensor is used to detect the position and provide the commutation signal. The higher the power, the higher the temperature generated by the eddy current in the pump body, sometimes reaching 100 degrees or more, but in general, the temperature resistance of electronic components Both are about 85 degrees, so two-phase DC pumps generally only work below 2A, and the water temperature should not exceed 60~70 degrees, otherwise the reliability of the pump cannot be guaranteed.



Performance comparison of two pumps:


Power: The two-phase can only be used for currents below 2A, and the maximum power is 50W. Three-phase can be more than 2A, the maximum power is 95W


Temperature resistance: two-phase 60 degrees, three-phase 100 degrees (three-phase circuit board is external, so it can be used at high temperatures)


Shock resistance: There is an impact during two-phase commutation, and there is a large starting current. The three-phase commutation is programmed without impact, and it is soft-started with a small starting current.


Protection: The three-phase DC pump has jam protection, reverse connection protection and so on.


Anti-vibration: The two-phase is the Hall element detection position commutation, and the anti-vibration is not strong. The three-phase DC is program commutation, which has strong shock resistance.


Controllability: Two-phase DC pumps can only be adjusted in speed by adjusting the voltage. When the system wants program control, it is difficult to achieve and the cost is high. Three-phase pumps can also change the speed by adjusting the voltage, but the three-phase pumps can also lead to control signal lines, which can realize PWM speed control, analog signal 0-5V speed control, manual speed control, fast response, and easy to implement.
